So this would be the first of many blogs, finally getting a place where everyone can keep up with what is going on in our lives. We are living in Denver, CO and we love it. We love everything about it with the exception of having no family here. We have been married for almost 2 years now, 1 month shy, we married on March 18, 2007 in California on a cruise ship. We found out we were pregnant that October. Talon is now about 7 and a 1/2 months old and keeps us on our toes. He was born on June 19, 2008 at home with the help of Mike's mom, Liz. It was an amazing experience that I would not trade for anything. I never thought that I would be able to have a child with no medication, I am kinda a wimp. But, I did it and it was the most painful yet the most amazing experience in my life. Mike was by my side the entire 8 hours. He was great, he did everything that he could to help ease the pain and encourage me. Mike could not be happier that he has a son, he says that is what he has always wanted and thanks me at least once a week for giving him a son. We want to have a second child in about a year, we want the kids to be about 2 years apart.
Mike is a stay at home dad right now, waiting tables at night to bring in a little extra money. I am working full time with Gap Inc and have been for the last 9+ years. One of these days I will be the stay at home parent and Mike will work, but it was hard for me to leave a company after investing so much time in it. Mike had an easier time quitting his job and it is the best situation for us right now.
Mike also is an MMA fighter and he loves it. He would love to fight every weekend if he could, but I don't think that I could handle that much stress. I worry about him getting hurt and he tells me that I should not worry since he "does not feel pain". Yeah right!
We are looking to buy a house here in Denver in the next few months, which would mean we will be here for a few more years.
